Creating a website is as easy as spending 2 hours at your computer...maybe less!!!!

Creating a website is easy! I'm going to tell you how to create your very own website in mere minutes to hours. I did it myself! Here is my very own website that I created using these simple steps!

www.cheapasstoker.com

And here is how you can create your website. First you need to sit down and plan what you want to do. There are plenty of websites out there that can give you ideas for themes such as http://www.entheosweb.com/website_design/design_ideas.asp. Now that you have an idea of what type of website you want to create, grab a pen and paper and start plotting your layout and color scheme.

Lots of websites give you free templates, and most host websites do too so don't fret if you can't get an idea for your layout flowing just yet. With your website idea in hand, start thinking of a name! You want it to be catchy and easy to type. Maybe something that people search for a lot. Then you want to register you name. One of the most used domain name registries (and the one I bought mine from) is GoDaddy.com You can use the link above to obtain a code to get 20% off your purchase, and even as low as 1cent depending on your domain name.

After you register your domain name, you want to go shopping for a host. The best host around is HostGator.com. Again the link is above and it will get you a % off if you use the link I provide. After you get your host set up, you want to look at the cPanel that hostgator offers.  cPanel Manager is the easiest to use to get started on your website. Now the reason I and lots of other people chose hostgator is because it has WordPress. Under you cPanel you want to go down to Quick Install under Software/Services. When you're in Quick Install you can go down to WordPress under blog software on the left hand side. It should be near the top.

WordPress offers templates that can get your website up and running in minutes. If you want to create a more complex website it allows you to customize your own from scratch with an easy to use panel and tutorials. It's the best free website builder out there. Any other time WordPress is a pain in the behind to install on your hosting site, but hostgator does it for you and that's why so many use it.

Now that you have all of this worked out, you want to link your domain to your host. Head back to your cPanel in hostgator. Now once under cPanel, scroll all the way down and look on the bottom left under Account Information. Under that there would be Nameservers with 2 links posted under it. Now head to godaddy and log in with your information. Under the domains tab on the main website go down to domain management under management.

That should have popped up with another browser that says domain manager. Under the all my domains tab, there should be a nameservers icon that looks like 3 stacked gold coins. Click on that. Under that you want to select you want to choose host parking for your domain and that is where you put in those 2 links that you say on hostgator.

Everything else is up to you. Under quickinstall you have numerous options to work with including forums creation. Hostgator has everything you need right there and easy to use. Both websites have online and over the phone customer support. You can talk to a representative live on Hostgator if you don't feel like talking on the phone. I hope this all helps because for every blog I read about creating websites, they never really went into detail on hostgator itself, so I tried the best I could on mine. Happy webbing!
